Exploring the Tide Pools

This is Abby. Doesn’t she look cool? She is.

The other day, we were bored and wanted to try to go swimming (didn’t happen) so we walked down to the beach. The tide was pretty far out, so we explored these awesome tide pools and generally bothered the wildlife.

It’s been so fantastic having a group of people here who are interested in taking advantage of everything Sitka has to offer. I play soccer twice a week at the gym, we do huge family meals a couple times a week, and then of course, there are the lovely people like Abby who will spontaneously go on a tide pool adventure at a moment’s notice. What more could I ask for?

I lived in San Diego, where it was beautiful and on the ocean, and then I lived in San Francisco, where it was also beautiful and on the ocean… but something about Alaska is just… magical and amazing. Walking down to the water, looking at all the boats, the wildlife, and of course the gorgeous mountains peeking up above it all.. it just really doesn’t get much better than this.

  1. Magical and Amazing. Yep, you’re having that same Alaska experience I have. It’s effing incredible, right? The people, the nature, the adventure, the culture, the wild fun lifestyle. Love it.
